Downton Abbey live concert coming to Liverpool Philharmonic

A Downtown Abbey live concert is coming to Liverpool which will bring to life the popular show.

Downton Abbey - Live in Concert celebrates the favourite characters of the show with live music from the Philharmonic Orchestra.

The show will see Downton’s housekeeper Mrs Hughes appearing on stage at the request of her boss, the Earl of Grantham, to look back on her time at the Abbey.

Throughout the concert she will remember the characters that filled the home through the years, including extended family, friends, VIPs and house staff members.

As she recalls significant events in the house, a collection of clips and montages from the series will play, featuring the lives, loves and losses from all six seasons.

During the clips, the Philharmonic Orchestra will bring John Lunn’s soundtrack to life, with songs including I’ll Count The Days and If You Were The Only Girl In The World, with performances by guest singers.

Downtown Abbey - Live in Concert takes place on Thursday, July 2 at 7.30pm, with tickets from £15-£46.

The event is not a film screening or film with live orchestra concert, but includes specially-created visuals, film clips and images, with live orchestral accompaniment.
