Michelle Dockery’s partner John Dineen has passed away aged 34, a spokesperson for the Downton Abbey actress has confirmed.
Dineen, a senior director of the FTI Consulting firm from Ireland, died from an undisclosed illness in Marymount Hospice on Sunday morning, the Irish Examiner reports.
Dockery was introduced to Dineen by her fellow Downton actor Allen Leech in September 2013. They reportedly became engaged, although this was never officially confirmed by either Dockery or Dineen.
A spokesperson for Dockery said: "The family is very grateful for the support and kindness they have received but would kindly request that they are left to grieve in private."
Dockery has also appeared in the 2011 film Hanna and alongside Liam Neeson in the film Non-Stop.
