Download Pilot: All you need to know about tickets and dates ahead of June festival

It has been two years since Download last rocked out at Donington Park - but a mini festival will be taking place this summer as part of a Covid safety pilot event.

Just a fraction of the usual 80,000 strong crowd will be in attendance at the event, called Download Pilot, on June 18-20.

The scaled back event is in place of the main festival that had been planned for June 4-6.

The capacity for the three-day event will be just 10,000 so tickets are sure to be like gold dust.

Fans who already have tickets for Download Festival 2022 will get priority when tickets go on sale on Tuesday, June 1, before general release on Thursday, June 3.

The price will be £120 (plus booking fee). There will be no day tickets available with all festival-goers expected to camp on-site for the duration of the event, as part of the Government pilot test.

The full line-up will be announced Friday, May 28.

Working closely with the Government to adhere to safety guidelines, the Download Pilot will help to pave the way for the return of large-scale music events and festivals as the UK emerges from the past year’s coronavirus restrictions.

Festival-goers must be over 16 and will have to prove they have a negative lateral flow test result to enter the festival.

Tickets will be available at downloadfestival.co.uk/download_pilot
