A live briefing on coronavirus is to be held from Downing Street on Wednesday afternoon.
The briefing will focus on the rise of the Delta variant and the ongoing vaccine rollout.
Downing Street is also expected to make announcements about foreign holidays this week, with an update on lockdown rules due on Monday.
Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi is to hold the Downing Street press conference at 5pm today.
It comes as it was revealed that there are two new variants under investigation in the UK - one from Thailand and Egypt and one from India called Delta Plus.
There are reports that when lockdown is finally lifted in England on July 19 there will be an end to social distancing and mask wearing.
But at the same time the number of people in hospital on ventilators has increased 41% in a week, and most of England is seeing a rise in cases of Covid.
