Down the Hatch Antigua Street: Edinburgh restaurant confirms much-anticipated city centre location

Canadian diner Down the Hatch have finally announced the whereabouts of their new city centre location and it was met with a huge online reaction of excitement from Edinburgh locals last night.

Down the Hatch will officially be opening their doors on 13 Antigua Street at the former Cafe Marlayne premises at the top of Leith Walk.

The announcement has garnered almost 3.5k likes on Instagram with the restaurant opening for delivery and collection from 'early next week'. Yes - you can get Down the Hatch's legendary grub in your home in JUST A MATTER OF DAYS.

The diner is opening for sit-in reservations at the end of January and cocktails will be provided by Sips Events.

The new restaurant will also be serving up "boozy shakes, frozen daiquiris, margaritas and beer from Leith brewery Pilot".

Co-owner Neal Davies told Edinburgh Live : "We are overwhelmed at all positive feedback we’ve received on the new opening! Some might say we are crazy for expanding in a pandemic, however we are super stoked and hope to do Edinburgh proud!"
