Down the drain?

With no place to go, kegs of beer and other beverages are piled up in a warehouse in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, on Friday. An alcohol wholesaler is now stuck with about 800 kegs of beer produced from early March to mid-April that will not stay fresh if shipments are delayed until June. Initially a short-term intensive measure for the Golden Week holidays, the latest COVID-19 state of emergency, which has shut down alcohol sales at bars and restaurants in the capital, was extended until the end of May.
