Down 3-1, other Warriors need to help Steph Curry and Klay Thompson

The Golden State Warriors fell to the Toronto Raptors in Game 4 on Friday night at home, 105-92. They now face the daunting task of coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals.

Klay Thompson returned after missing Game 3 and scored 28 points, while Stephen Curry had 27. Draymond Green and Kevon Looney, who also returned after missing Game 3, scored 10 points each. That’s not going to cut it against a deep and supremely talented Raptors team, especially with Kevin Durant still out with the calf strain.

On top of that, it would help the Warriors if the other guys could make their open three-pointers. Curry and Thompson combined to shoot 8-for-19 from deep in Game 4 while the rest of the team shot 0-for-8.

This team’s motto has always been “strength in numbers” and now is the time to call on that motto. Guys like Andre Iguodala and Quinn Cook, big contributors in the Game 2 win, need to dig deep and help Curry and Thompson begin a comeback.

The Warriors have proven their championship mettle in the past. They have even done it in this series after losing Game 1 and bouncing back to win Game 2. Durant or no Durant, it’s time to call on that experience again and come to play in Game 5.

The Warriors will have their chance on Monday from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
