Down 3-1, Draymond Green asks: ‘Why not make our own history?’

The Golden State Warriors are in a dire position. They dropped both games at home following a Game 2 victory and now trail the Toronto Raptors 3-1 in the NBA Finals and their hopes for a three-peat are on life support.

The Warriors have been in this position before. They trailed the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-1 in the 2016 Western Conference Finals and they rallied to win that series.

On the flip side, that same season was when they also led the Cleveland Cavaliers 3-1 and blew it in those Finals. Draymond Green, who’s suspension in Game 5 of that series played a part in the Warriors blowing the series, remembers it perfectly and he believes Golden State can still come back in this series.

It’s hard to bet against the current dynasty in the NBA, but without Kevin Durant it is going to be a tall task to knock off the Raptors who are locked in right now led by their own superstar, Kawhi Leonard.

At this point, with or without Durant, it is all about taking this thing one game at a time and it begins by trying to win the next game. It is about digging deeper and trying to win the next one.

Game 5 is Monday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
