Dow Schofield Watts hoping to tempt professional services teams to quit their firms with £50,000 per head payment

Dow Schofield Watts is hoping to tempt professional services teams to quit their existing firms to launch their own start-ups with a £50,000 per person payment.

The mid-market professional services network will use a £2m pot established last year to boost recruitment and expansion.

The firm is targeting teams of three or more who want to break out of their existing firm and build their own business. DSW will also provide working capital to support the new companies.

DSW said it is currently seeing increased demand for services such as business recovery and debt advisory but is "also keen" to talk to teams offering corporate finance, due diligence, tax advisory and other specialist service lines.

DSW currently has 97 employees across nine offices in the North West, Leeds, Reading, London and Scotland.

It is aiming to expand the range of services at its existing offices and open new offices in locations including the Midlands and the South West.

Nicole Burstow, finance director of DSW Capital, which owns the Dow Schofield Watts brand, said: "Dow Schofield Watts provides an alternative career option for ambitious finance professionals; empowering them to build their own business.

"It enables teams to work in a way that aligns with their own values, make their own decisions and take charge of their own destiny. We look forward to welcoming more specialist teams to our growing network."

DSW Capital, which is headquartered in Cheshire, raised £5m after completing a float on the London Stock Exchange's AIM at the end of 2021.
