Car parks at a well loved beauty spot have continued to be closed to new vehicles after visitors flocked to spend time there over the Easter bank holiday.
The Bank lane and Binn Green car parks at Dovestone reservoir, and all lay-bys in the area, filled up as people took to the area to enjoy the holiday.
Marshalls from Protec Security, the firm responsible for policing the site, put out a warning on social media today (Easter Monday), asking visitors to be mindful of residents driveways, to park sensibly elsewhere and to be aware traffic wardens were patrolling the area.
As previously reported in the Manchester Evening News, by 10.30am on Good Friday Marshalls had closed the roads up to the car parks as visitors basked in the warm weather. Traffic built up in the area throughout the day, with congestion on Holmfirth Road causing chaos.
Despite a drop in temperature Easter Monday has continued to see the beauty spots attracting a stream of visitors.
Marshalls have been trying to limit the number of cars parking illegally in the area, only allowing cars in if there are available spaces, after visitors crowded the area earlier in the week.
Brian Banawich lives in Greenfield, and said: "The numbers visiting the site have increased massively in just a few years and residents believe it warrants a full time marshalling scheme."
Hollingworth Lake and Rivington Pike also saw an influx of visitors, with queues building on Sheep House and Horrobin Lane.
