Dove and Olive Eatery confirms closure with emotional goodbye message

The owners of a popular Liverpool cafe have announced, in an emotional message on social media, they will be closing their doors for the last time.

It was announced in a post on Facebook that Dove and Olive Eatery on Dovedale Road in Allerton is closing after a "tough few years".

The cafe first opened just over two years ago in August 2017.

In the Facebook post , the owners thanked their friends and family for all their support.

They said: "We've loved the past three years at Dovedale Road but the time has come to move on.

"The cafe is closing however the wine festivals, celebration bars and outside events continue so keep an eye on our Instagram for details of the next D&O event.

"It's been a tough few years personally and professionally, with highs and lows but we've loved being able to share our adventure with all of our customers.

"We can't thank our family, friends and suppliers enough for everything along the way from getting us setup on a shoe string, lending a hand more times than we can remember, for being with us when we've needed a shoulder to cry on, for all the laughs and the bits to be proud of too."

As a big thank you to their regulars, the owners also announced they would be hosting a goodbye party.

"We'll be having a farewell afternoon of cake, coffee and wine on Saturday, January 4 from 12pm to 5pm, and would love to see anyone that would like to pop along for a final visit.

"Massive thanks to all the regulars, wine drinkers, party planners, quiz goers and just plain lovely people that have been part of Dove and Olive’s story so far. From our family to yours, all the best for 2020."

Dove and Olive served up everything from granola and full English breakfasts to sandwiches and savoury tarts with freshly made cakes daily, including gluten free and vegan options.
