A young Doune photographer has received the accolade of ‘International Pet Photographer of the Year 2022’.
Chloé Brown, who has been a professional photographer for around five years, took the award for her photograph of a Maine Coon cat called Adam owned by Kristina Macaulay at Belle Ayr Cats in Ayrshire.
Twenty-four-year-old Chloé was competing in a field of more than 100 Master Photographers Association members.
She said: “I am thrilled to bring this award to Scotland.
“When my name was called out to receive the winning title I was shocked.
“I had travelled all the way down to Birmingham to witness the awards ceremony.
“Getting the surprise of winning was definitely worth the journey down.
“What made this award even more special is that cat photography is not what I specialise in.
“In fact the photograph was taken at one of my first shoots with a cat done professionally.”

Entrants go through two rounds during the award process and the highest scoring images go through to round two where they are marked on the quality of how the image prints.
Chloé specialises in horses and dogs and travels all over Scotland photographing people’s beloved pets.
She is known for creative shots using holi powder.
Chloé said: “I submitted three images and had one get through to the print stage, where it collected enough points to win the category “International Studio Pet Photographer of the Year 2022”
“I have won awards in the past, one of which was with HorseScotland for Equine photo of the Year 2020, just before we went into lockdown.
“This was my first big award with my photography, but being able to win such a prestigious award against international photographers in the Master Photographers Association was a massive shock as the level of work that is entered is of the highest standard in the industry.”
