Hamilton Accies legend Dougie Imrie is in talks over a manager's role in Romania.
Record Sport understands the 36-year-old travelled to southeastern Europe on Monday for discussions with second-tier side Pandurii.
The club, based in Targu Jiu, are languishing near the foot of the table and, according to reports in Romania, have encountered financial difficulties.
Imrie has now returned to Scotland following the discussions.
The Accies favourite is currently a coach under boss Brian Rice having retired at the end of the 2018/19 Premiership season.
On February 28, Imrie was arrested by Police Scotland over claims of match fixing and later released.
A Hamilton statement said it was their "understanding no one has been charged with any offence".
The statement added: "As the police enquiry is ongoing it would be inappropriate for the club to comment any further at this time."
Imrie made 276 appearances for the Lanarkshire club over two separate spells.
