Doug Williams dismisses idea of Redskins trading up in draft

While the Washington Redskins trading up in the 2019 NFL draft for a Kyler Murray or otherwise might sound exciting, Doug Williams doused the flames Thursday.

Speaking at the scouting combine, Williams made it clear the team doesn’t like the idea of losing assets:

Then again, this is smokescreen season so this might not necessarily mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Quarterback is the only position likely worth making a sacrifice like this for from a Redskins perspective this year. Otherwise, loading up on as many quality prospects as possible makes sense.

In other words, Redskins fans should have a better idea on this front once the big quarterback dominoes start to fall in free agency.
