Doug Pederson stepped to the podium on Sunday to discuss the Eagles injury situation, joint practices with the Ravens and the fire that Josh McCown still possesses for football after signing a one-year deal to back up Carson Wentz.
Shortly afterward though, Pederson was asked if the Philadelphia Eagles ever seriously considered signing Colin Kaepernick. Upon answering the question, Pederson stated that the organization “considers everybody” and they did what was best for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Whether it was his contract demands, the rustiness of having not played in three years or simply the distraction that comes with having Kaepernick on the roster, it’s unknown if the Birds ever gave a thought to bringing in the former 49ers star who would have been an obvious fit in the shotgun heavy offensive system.
