Doug Pederson on whether Jordan Mailata has played well enough to be Eagles LT of the future

The Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with serious injuries along the offensive line this season, but the adversity has allowed Jordan Mailata to flourish in relief at left tackle.

Andre Dillard suffered a biceps injury during training camp and Jason Peters has dealt with a myriad of injuries this season.

Those setbacks allowed Eagles brass to finally get a full evaluation of Mailata’s true skill-set after three-years lauding about his potential. On Wednesday morning, head coach Doug Pederson responded to questions about whether Mailata could be the Eagles’ left tackle of the future.

With the Eagles needing to get younger on the offensive line, the emergence of two-quality left tackles is a good problem to have and Philadelphia could enter the 2021 season with both Dillard and Mailata at the position or at various spots along the offensive line.
