Doug Pederson hints at NFL moving towards fewer preseason games and more joint practices,

The Baltimore Ravens are in town for joint practice sessions with the Philadelphia Eagles and if you ask players from both teams, this setup is becoming the new normal. Joint practices have been held around the league for years now, but recently, the idea of intense scrimmages being opposing teams instead of worthless preseason games is now the preference.

Eagles head coach, Doug Pederson, chimed in on the craze and he believes joint practices could mean fewer preseason games.

Pederson called it the latest “trend”, but believes that this is where the NFL is heading. Pederson admitted he liked the idea and believes the controlled environment can be more valuable than any preseason game.
