Doubts over Love Island's Jake spread as he tells Liberty he loves her

There have been doubts creeping in over the past few days about her relationship with Jake Cornish and tonight, Liberty Poole is forced to confront her fears as she shares some important news on Love Island.

When Jake tells Liberty that he loves her, she wastes no time in sharing her news with the girls.

She tells them: "He said those words to me and I feel so happy.”

But her fellow Islanders can't hide their doubts.

A worried Chloe Burrows asks her: “You’re going to hate me. Do you not think he’s telling you what you want to hear?”

And as Liberty looks at the girls and asks 'Is that what all you guys think?' Faye Winter tells her: “I don’t know baby.”

Liberty presses: “Do you think I’m being an idiot?”

And Chloe says: “I don’t think he would say something if he didn’t mean it but I also think is it convenient that he said it this evening after all of this?”

News of Jake saying those three little words and the girls’ feelings swiftly travel around the TV villa, and it isn’t long before Jake learns of their reaction.

Liberty has had her doubts (ITV)

Viewers of the ITV2 dating show, which sees the winning couple scoop £50,000, have recently seen Liberty have niggling doubts about their relationship.

The pair were coupled-up from day one, which saw them as favourites to win the series, and Jake later asked Liberty to be his girlfriend with a magnetic bracelet.

But red flags first started appearing when she was shown a previously unseen clip of Jake talking about her during the lads' holiday in Casa Amor.

Jake and Liberty were the first couple to become exclusive this series (ITV)

In the clip from earlier in their relationship Jake told fellow Islanders he didn’t have the urge to ‘rip her clothes off.'

Liberty was then worried when he advised her not to run over to hug Kaz Kamwi after her best friend in the villa became 'exclusive' with Tyler Cruickshank.

He reasoned that he thought she'd want time with her close friend away from the other Islanders.

"She'll come down and give you a cuddle," he told her.

"You don't want to be up there with everyone, do you know what I mean? That's your best mate!"

But voicing her concerns afterwards she said she wasn't sure "what was for TV."

Then Liberty and Jake finished top of a public vote for the 'most one sided relationship' in the villa.

Love Island is screened tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
