It's two for two for Manchester United as Marc Skinner has won the Barclays Manager of the Month and Leah Galton named Barclays Player of the Month for December.
Skinner has been recognised following United’s unbeaten month at the end of 2022, performing on the grand stages of Premier League stadiums.
His side have scored six times while conceding only once across the two matches against Aston Villa at Old Trafford in their tantalising 5-0 win in front of a record crowd and end-to-end 1-1 tie with Manchester City at the Etihad.
Midfielder Galton has also shone throughout December scoring two goals in two games after latching on to a beautifully weighted through ball from Ella Toone to put the Red Devils getting the second goal at the Theatre of Dreams.
She also gave United the lead in the Manchester derby with instinctive link-up play once again with Toone, giving them the lead once again at half-time.
Galton pipped United's Ona Batlle and goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, who is currently on loan to Everton, Arsenal's Vivianne Miedema, City's Laura Coombs and Chelsea duo Fran Kirby and Guro Reiten to the award.
While Skinner outmuscled competition from Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall, Chelsea’s Emma Hayes and Reading’s Kelly Chambers for the award, and is in fact his second time winning the accolade after winning it in October following his side's flawless performances winning three and conceding none.
Both look ahead to Sunday’s clash with Liverpool as Women’s Super League action returns at Leigh Sports Village, kicking off at 14:05.
