'Double down' - Liverpool supporters send message to FSG after John Henry breaks silence

Liverpool supporters have been providing their reaction to today's development regarding FSG's position at the club.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding their intentions ever since reports first emerged in November claimed FSG had 'put the club up for sale'. Selling a majority stake as opposed to a full sale has seemed a more likely outcome as the weeks have passed, which has now been confirmed to be the case by Henry himself.

The 73-year-old, who rarely speaks in public, allowed for some questions via email from Boston Red Sox reporters ahead of the first day of spring training in Florida, where he, wife Linda, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner and FSG CEO Sam Kennedy were present. And in the responses posed to questions from Boston Sports Journal writer Sean McAdam, Henry confirmed that FSG were not selling Liverpool.

"I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about LFC (Liverpool Football Club), but I keep to the facts: we merely formalized an ongoing process," he said. Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? No. Are we talking with investors about LFC? Yes. Will something happen there? I believe so, but it won't be a sale. Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?"

Responding to the above quotes from the FSG chief, a number of Liverpool fans have expressed their thoughts on the situation. Some, who were hopeful of rivalling the riches of Manchester City or Newcastle United have vented their frustration, meanwhile others believe FSG can remain suitable owners provided an overhaul of the squad is completed this summer.
