Double-decker drama in Fife as Stagecoach trapped under petrol station roof

A Stagecoach bus needed assistance this morning (Thursday 1 October) after becoming trapped under the canopy of a Fife petrol station.

The double-decker was attempting to avoid roadworks in Dunfermline by diverting via the Tesco garage.

However, while maneuvering the huge bus, it crashed into a barrier underneath the forecourt canopy and was stopped in its tracks.

Although images shared on Facebook page Fife Jammer Locations look as though the bus was wedged under the roof, Stagecoach have stressed that no damage was caused.

There were no passengers onboard at the time of the collision and the driver was thankfully uninjured.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach East Scotland said: “Due to roadworks on Winterthur Lane, road users were diverted through Tesco.

“The driver operating the vehicle spoke to a Tesco staff member who helped guide our driver through the petrol station.

“The vehicle collided with a barrier under the canopy however the bus was not lodged and no damage was sustained.

“I can confirm there were no passengers onboard and the driver is also uninjured".
