Double decker bus involved in bad crash as ambulance and multiple gardai rush to scene

Laois Gardai are investigating a bad crash between a double decker bus and car earlier this week.

The collision happened on the Dublin road in Portlaoise on Tuesday morning with the passenger bus receiving a noticeable dent to the front.

Multiple gardai and an ambulance rushed to the scene with traffic halted on the road for a short time.

Gardai said that no one was seriously injured in the smash.

However, officers are appealing for any witnesses that were on the road on Tuesday morning to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said: "Portlaoise Gardaí and Laois Roads Policing Unit unit at the scene of collision between a bus and a car. No serious injuries.

"If you travelled along at Kilminchy, Dublin Road, Portlaoise Tuesday morning between 8:30am to 8:40am and have dash cam footage or witnessed anything contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 0578674100."
