Double crash drama on Scotland’s roads as woman taken to hospital followed by three-car smash

A woman has been taken to hospital following a smash outside the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Emergency services were called to the scene after receiving reports of a one vehicle collision on Castle Street.

Motorists faced slight delays as first responders dealt with the incident shortly before 4pm on Monday.

The extent of the woman’s injuries are not currently known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.50pm, officers attended a one-vehicle road traffic collision on Castle Street.

"A woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated. Enquiries are ongoing."

Meanwhile, officers are currently dealing with a three-car crash in Ayr close to the Craig Tara Holiday Park.

Emergency services remain at the scene on A719 Dunure Road, which has been closed.

It is not currently known whether anyone has been hurt.

A force spokesperson added: “Around 6.40pm we received a report of a three vehicle crash on Dunure Road in Ayr.

“Emergency services are currently in attendance and the road is closed.”
