Double break in on Slateford Road as thieves target takeaway and beauty salon in one night

A double break in has been reported in Edinburgh after two business premises were targeted this week.

The Dollshouse beauty salon on Slateford Road was subject to an attempted robbery, as thieves smashed their way through the front doors and glass panels of the second in the early hours of Monday morning.

Despite smashing the door, due to the internal alarm and double lock on the inside door, the suspects were not able to gain access inside the salon and left the premises.

Just 15 minutes later at 2.15am, local Indian restaurant, Jashans, was successfully broken into.

The salon has urged anyone who may have any information to come forward, and for local residents to be vigilant and aware of keeping their homes and businesses secure.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "

Police were called around 5.50pm on Tuesday, 16 June, 2020, following the report of an attempted break-in to a business premises on Slateford Road, Edinburgh.

"The external doors to the premises were damaged and enquiries are ongoing by our Community Investigation Unit to trace those involved."
