Dos and don'ts of choosing your outfit in monsoon

The monsoon season is at its pinnacle in most parts of India; the shower brings cool breezes that evoke human senses to get drenched in the most poetic season of the year. Monsoon may connote romance in films and books, but sometimes the excessive downpour inhibits us to compromise on going outside for fun and strolls. However, that does not justify draping sloppy attire. Keep in mind the dos and don'ts when choosing your monsoon-appropriate attire.

Dos for monsoon styling

Wear knee length clothes: During the monsoon, we usually braved the streets after rainfall and skillfully avoided all the puddles only to discover that our pants were covered in unsightly mud and water stains on the legs. Wearing attire that finishes at or above your knees is the best option for averting this terrible scenario and looking amazing. Consider wearing skater skirts, fitting midi dresses, or high-waist shorts. If you want to wear pants, it's better to pick cropped pants that terminate somewhere about your calf. With these outfits, you'll not only feel comfortable but also carry off the cool look effortlessly.

Wear floral prints: The monsoon season is colourful. This is the time of year for vivid and bright colours. It is inappropriate to choose drab and uninteresting colours during the season of love and romance. Even now is a good time to wear prints with vibrant floral prints.

Accessories: This is yet another crucial monsoon fashion advice. The sophisticated style can be enhanced with accessories like caps, large neckpieces, plastic rings, anklets, and toe rings. Therefore, accessories can give an outfit a new look.

Wear comfortable footwear: You should wear comfortable shoes that are secure in the rain in addition to the appropriate clothing. Avoid wearing any leather or velvet shoes, closed- toed footwear, as well as stilettos and heels. Flip-flops with rubber soles and vibrant colours are also acceptable choices for monsoon. To keep your feet dry and free of bacteria, put on some waterproof socks.

Don'ts for monsoon styling

Avoid light hues: Mud from the rainy season can completely ruin your outfit. Include vivid hues in your attire, such as red, orange, yellow, and olive green. Simple, slim-fit pants go great with colourful tops or shirts. Wearing light-coloured clothing is not recommended, especially bottoms. When they are damp, light colours also become transparent. So, choose for the safe side and wear colours that stand out or are dark.

Avoid jeans and heavy fabrics: Jeans and heavy textiles may become bogged down by water during the rainy season. For this reason, we advise choosing lightweight materials like silk blends, light crepes, and light silk. By allowing some airflow, these textiles keep you from overheating. Additionally, they dry out rapidly if they get wet from sweat or even water.

Ethnics to avoid: If you prefer an Indian appearance during the monsoon season, stay away from wearing salwar and patialas and choose instead a pair of short Kurtis paired with leggings or churidars. Scarves or stoles can replace the burdensome long dupattas that are bothersome in the weather. Avoid patterns and materials that have a propensity to sweat when wet.

We really hope you feel ready for the monsoon season. You may enjoy the most of the rainy season by following these tips on monsoon clothing!
