The meticulous Bundesliga big boys are always searching for tomorrow's hero and believe Manchester City 's 15-year-old Jamie Bynoe-Gittens fits the bill.
Bild report Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc has a strong relationship with the England youth international's representatives.
Dortmund have already splashed out £25m on another English talent after convincing 17-year-old Birmingham City prodigy Jude Bellingham to head to Germany as a potential Sancho replacement.
But Lucien Favre's side face a real battle to secure the services of Bynoe-Gittens who is also on the radar of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
And interest in one of the most exciting young players in the world comes with Dortmund and United locked in talks over a potential deal to take Sancho back to England.
The 20-year-old is waiting patiently as the clubs continue high-level discussions but the Germans are believed to be in no rush to budge over their lofty £108m valuation.
And United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's comments over in the aftermath of his side's 2-1 Europa League win over LASK didn't provide the update the Red Devils faithful are craving.
He said: "Well, we’re looking into all transfers differently. I’m not going to speak about individuals that are not our players.
"I’ve got no news, no update. We’ll update you if something happens."
