Dorsey, Kitchens speak highly of Greedy Williams’ skills

LSU cornerback Greedy Williams sliding down all the way to the No. 46 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft did not just shake up NFL Draft Twitter, it shook up the Browns front office too.

General manager John Dorsey — who said following the first round of the draft on Thursday he believed there was a handful of good cornerbacks remaining heading into day two — told reporters on Friday evening that he was surprised the Browns were able to land Williams.

For comparison’s sake, five cornerbacks went in the second round before the Browns snatched Williams at 46, moving up three picks to do so.

Both Dorsey and head coach Freddie Kitchens felt that Williams playing in the SEC showcases his ability to cover receivers in the NFL.

Williams will play in a division where he and Denzel Ward will see the likeness of Juju Smith-Schuster, A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and Marquise Brown twice a season.
