Dorothy Perkins in Nottingham's intu Broadmarsh Centre is to close next month

Dorothy Perkins has announced that it will be closing its store in the intu Broadmarsh Centre next month.

The fashion retailer is the latest in a long line of high street chains, including Argos, BHS, Wimpy and The Perfume shop,  to quit the shopping centre.

The last day of trading will be Saturday, July 13. That will leave just one branch in the city centre, in Beastmarket Hill, plus a concession in Debenhams.

Dorothy Perkins' shop in intu Victoria Centre was replaced by US outdoor wear chain Timberland in 2017.

Major retailers remaining in intu Broadmarsh, as the redevelopment continues, include Fopp, Wilko, Greggs, Heron Foods and Card Factory.

Dorothy Perkins' Long Eaton shop closed last week but a concession remains in the town's Tesco Extra.

Nottinghamshire Live has contacted the Arcadia Group, which owns Dorthy Perkins, for a response.
