Dora the Explorer is on her way to the big screen.
The live-action movie of Dora the Explorer, entitled Dora and the Lost City of Gold, will see Transformers: The Last Knight star Isabela Moner take on the role of Dora as she and her best friend Diego and monkey Boots take on an epic adventure.
The official description reveals the plot for the character in the new film.
"Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents nothing could prepare Dora for the most dangerous adventure ever – high school.
"Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego, and a rag tag group of teens on an adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization."
Ant-Man star Michael Pena portrays Dora's father in the film, while Desperate Housewives superstar Eva Longoria plays Dora's mother, Elena.
Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro will also appear in the film voicing the character of Swiper the Fox.
Con Air star Danny Trejo will voice Dora's constant companion, loyal monkey Boots.
The film also stars Temeura Morrison, Adriana Barraza, Eugenio Gutierrez, and Madeline Madden.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is released in UK cinemas on August 16, 2019.
