Dora and the Lost City of Gold clip shows off our favourite explorer in action

Dora the Explorer is finally making her live-action cinematic debut.

In this exclusive clip, we see a comical scene in which Dora (Isabela Moner) setting off an alarm at school with her range of jungle survival gear.

The new film really hits home how Dora has spent most of her life exploring the jungle, meaning nothing could prepare Dora for her most dangerous adventure yet - high school.

Accompanied by a ragtag group of teens and Boots the monkey, Dora embarks on a quest to save her parents while trying to solve the seemingly impossible mystery behind a lost Incan civilization.

The film also stars Michael Pena and Eva Longoria as Dora's parents, Cole and Elena, respectively.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold (Paramount Pictures)

Dora and the Lost City of Gold has already been released to positive reviews, with review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes showing the film to have an 80% approval rating with reviews rating the film 'Fresh'.

The consensus reads: "Led by a winning performance from Isabela Moner, Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a family-friendly adventure that retains its source material's youthful spirit."

It certainly looks like a fun outing for the family, but will Dora be able to save her parents and also become a stable member of a high school student body?

We can't wait to find out.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold is released in UK cinemas on August 16, 2019.
