Doomed Welsh Premier League fixture called off because of snow, just six weeks after kit clash controversy

Fate, it seems, is destined to keep apart Cymru Premier League teams Cardiff Met and Cefn Druids this season.

Six weeks ago their scheduled fixture in the Welsh capital had to be called off minutes before kick off because of a kit clash.

For some inexplicable reason, the Druids, who normally play in black and white, chose to come down from north Wales with only their second choice kit of red - the same colour as that of Cardiff Met.

Referee Gavin Townsend decided the match could not go ahead in those circumstances, leading to Sky Sports pundits mocking Welsh football's flagship league and what had happened.

The game has been re-arranged for November 23, but before that the two teams were meant to play the reverse fixture today at Druids' The Rock ground.

Only that match had to be postponed on Saturday morning as well after snow made the pitch unplayable and the surrounding roads dangerous.

The hosts posted pictures on social media. of the snow covered pitch and the roads around the ground.

The two teams will be hoping for better luck in 14 days' time when they are due to meet again in Cardiff. This time, hopefully, Cefn Druids will bring the correct kit with them and it does not mean another seven and a half hour wasted journey!

Cardiff Met played in the Europa League this season and are hoping to qualify for European football again.
