Donovan Mitchell To Miss At Least Three Games Due To Injury

Utah Jazz basketball

Cleveland Cavaliers' star guard Donovan Mitchell has undergone a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection to address a bone bruise in his left knee, the team confirmed. Mitchell, who has been sidelined for the past two games due to knee soreness, is expected to miss at least the next three games as he recovers from the injury.

The Cavaliers announced that Mitchell will be unavailable for the upcoming matchups against the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, and Minnesota Timberwolves. His condition will be reassessed over the weekend to determine his availability for future games.

Despite his absence, Mitchell has been a key contributor to the Cavaliers' success this season. The 27-year-old guard is averaging an impressive 28 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per game, playing a pivotal role in guiding the team to a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference.

Currently, the Cavaliers are trailing the Milwaukee Bucks by just half a game for the No. 2 seed in the East. They hold a comfortable four-game lead over the New York Knicks, who are in fourth place in the conference standings.

With Mitchell's health being a top priority, the Cavaliers will closely monitor his progress and ensure that he receives the necessary treatment to make a full recovery. His absence will undoubtedly be felt on the court, but the team remains optimistic about his return in the near future.
