Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert are cleared of coronavirus

The Utah Jazz were Team Zero when it came to coronavirus.

Rudy Gobert was the first professional athlete to test positive for coronavirus and his teammate, Donovan Mitchell, tested positive shortly after he did. Gobert’s positive test led the NBA to immediately suspend the season, which triggered a chain reaction across the entire sports landscape, as other leagues rushed to do the same.

Fast forward two weeks later and they’re both recovered and in the clear. The Utah Department of Health determined that all Jazz players and staff have completed their mandatory isolation time and no longer pose a threat in infecting others regardless of how they tested initially.

Donovan Mitchell reacted shortly after the news broke.

It’s good to hear that these two have made it in the clear. Detroit’s Christian Wood, who tested positively after they did, has also been cleared.

It was a scary time for everyone involved. Now they can all move forward with a clean bill of health.
