Donny van de Beek has been urged to end his 'disappointment' at Manchester United by former Red Devils striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The 23-year-old remains low down in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's midfield pecking order, with as many as five players ahead of him.
United signed van de Beek less than 12 months ago and the ex-Ajax starlet made just four Premier League starts in his debut season, while he has been an unused substitute in both matches this term.
The Netherlands interational's agent, Guido Albers, says he is "happy" with the situation after Solskjaer gave public clarity that van de Beek "will be important" to his team but Berbatov believes he should leave the club before next Tuesday's deadline.
Berbatov told Betfair : "The transfer window closes on Tuesday and, while United have done well to bring in some good players, I still think there may be some action to come with outgoings.
"I don't think we're going to see any more playing time from Donny van de Beek."
The Bulgarian has also labelled the £35million move "one of the most disappointing transfers ever."

"It's a really strange, disappointing and surprising situation," Berbatov explained.
"They spent around £35 million on him and, to pay that for a player who isn't starting many games, doesn't make sense.
"I'm not blaming the player at all, but for me it's one of the most disappointing transfers ever."
The 40-year-old has praised van de Beek's resilience, however, but believes he should depart Old Trafford if he is unhappy and has slated his former club for "buying for the sake of buying."

"He has got a lot of quality. I don't like it when clubs buy for the sake of buying and this is one of those situations," the ex-Red Devils striker stated.
"I'm sure he's banging on the manager's door and asking questions.
"I think if he's not happy, van de Beek should push to leave."
Berbatov also raised the Dutchman's uncertain place in the Netherlands national team under former United manager Louis van Gaal, despite receiving a call-up for Euro 2020 by Frank de Boer, which he missed due to injury.
"His place in the national team is at risk, especially now with Louis van Gaal in charge.
"van Gaal is a disciplinarian who like his players to play football," he noted before naming the five men higher up in Solskjaer's pecking order.
"Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes are untouchable in the United midfield at the moment. Scott McTominay, Fred and even 33-year-old Nemanja Matic are ahead of van de Beek."
Berbatov did offer sympathy, though, citing his own situation towards the end of his playing days to relate.
"I know how Van de Beek feels. In the late stage of my career I was playing in Greece, the president wanted me and signed me, but the coach didn't want me and we had some issues," he added.
"It is frustrating for a player. He needs to have a long hard think about his situation and what he wants."
