Donny van de Beek sends social media message to Hakim Ziyech after Chelsea transfer

Frank Lampard has made his first signing as Chelsea head coach.

The Blues boss was unable to add to his squad during the summer due to a transfer ban, while the former midfielder found himself frustrated by being unable to get any deals over the line in the January transfer window after the ban was lifted.

However, Chelsea have moved early to ensure that it won't be the same case during this summer's window, with the club announcing the capture of Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech, who will join the club at the end of the season.

Both the Blues and Ajax announced the deal worth around £33 million on Thursday afternoon.

Ziyech has been sent messages of good luck from both fans and teammates, with Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek joining in with wishing his teammate the best.

Posting on his Instagram stories, the Dutch international wrote "proud of you bro, but we still need to finish some things!"

Van de Beek was the first Ajax player to speak about the transfer before the move was made official.

"I wish him everything and I hope he will do very well there," he told VoetbalPrimeur.

"It is a step he deserves in my opinion.

"It is a fantastic football player, so I am confident that he will do well.

"I think it’s a very nice club with a lot of young players that can grow.

"I think Hakim will certainly be in place.

"Everyone of course has their opinion about that, but I think it's a nice club for him."
