Donny van de Beek's transfer statement that could affect Arsenal and Mikel Arteta's plans

Donny van de Beek's future remains undecided.

The midfielder was tipped to leave Ajax last summer, thus following in the footsteps of Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt who joined Barcelona and Juventus respectively in big-money deals.

But despite links to the Premier League as well as Real Madrid, van de Beek stayed put and had weighed in with eight goals and five assists before the Eredivisie season was suspended.

Art de Roche's full Arsenal Q&A

Although, with a looming transfer window speculation regarding his future has started back up again and there has been rumours of him agreeing on a deal with Zinedine Zidane's side.

However, that's not the case.

"Playing in the sun is always nice, but no, I haven't started taking Spanish classes," he told Helden magazine, as per the Mirror.

"I still haven't said 'yes' to anyone, it's all open. I know what I have here, I'm loved by Ajax and I love Ajax.

"My feeling should be positive at a club, not only that they want me but also that I fit in their system of play.

"Of course, I also want to know the game time they will give me."

The Dutchman has also previously denied any contact with Los Blancos.

"Nothing is official [with Real Madrid]. There is no contract. That is the situation. That has not changed throughout the season," he added. "I don't want to choose. Both are great clubs, but as I said before, Ajax is also a great club.

"Therefore, there is nothing to choose from. Everything would be very good."

One person hoping Real Madrid complete a deal for van de Beek will most likely be Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta as it could have an affect on Dani Ceballos.

The Spanish midfielder is on loan from the La Liga giants Real Madrid, but there is not a purchase option in the agreement between the two clubs.

But should Madrid add to their midfield options this summer, does that mean Ceballos doesn't have a long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu? If so, that could boost the Gunners' chances of signing the midfielder on a permanent basis.
