Pictures show Donny van de Beek was left fuming on the Manchester United bench last night after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once again snubbed him.
With United looking for a winning goal late on after Alex Telles brought them level at the hour mark in the Champions Legaue clash, Solskjaer opted to bring on Jesse Lingard and Fred ahead of the attacking midfielder in van de Beek.
The Dutchman was caught on camera being calmed down by teammates Dean Henderson as he clearly vented his frustration after being snubbed once again.
The 24-year-old has struggled to nail down a starting spot in the team ever since his £35 million move from Ajax in 2020.
However, many fans have been impressed with his performances when given the chance by Solskjaer.
The manager's move would, however, be justified as Lingard would go on to provide the assist for Cristiano Ronaldo to win the game with one of the last kick's of the ball after Fred's key cross.
United were second best in the first-half against Villarreal, who saw their effort rewarded when Arnaut Danjuma crossed for Paco Alcacer to score at the start of the second period.
United full-back Alex Telles soon levelled with a brilliant volley from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side looked as though they would be unable to force the winner as substitute Edinson Cavani headed wide.
Ronaldo then found the net in the dying seconds to spark delirious scenes.
All eyes will be on van de Beek moving forward and whether he gets that desired playing time.
