Donny van de Beek's agent discusses midfielder's Man Utd future with outcast 'not happy'

Donny van de Beek's agent admits his player is "not happy" but sees no reason to panic about his Manchester United future.

The Dutchman made a £35m switch to Old Trafford in the summer, but has found opportunities hard to come by.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has only handed him two league starts and Van de Beek's future is already a subject of speculation.

Reports claim that the 23-year-old is ready to have showdown talks with club chief Ed Woodward as he seeks clarity on his future.

Ronald de Boer admits the midfielder may have to move on, but understands from conversations with his agent that he's content with his treatment in Manchester.

“I spoke to Ajax and they said there's no truth in it at all. He didn't ask to speak to them," he told talkSPORT .

“He's just focusing on his recovery on his ankle, and it's not true that he asked Man Utd to leave.

“His agent also told me that of course he's not happy that he's not playing. He's only had two starts under Solskjaer and that's not what he hoped for when he joined Man Utd.

“He's not worried, of course he wants to play every game. But he's not worried that he can't succeed.

“He has to have a review after this year, asking where do I stand? Do I have a possibility to succeed here or not? Otherwise, I have to make a move.

“We will see where he's heading next year, maybe he stays at Man Utd or maybe another club is interesting for him.

“But he's not panicking at all, he told the manager he's so happy at Man Utd because the club is one of the best in terms of how they treat him, he feels loved.”

Van de Beek scored on his united debut in a defeat against Crystal Palace.

Solskjaer has conceded that the midfielder is not happy at Old Trafford, but has been pleased with his conduct.

“I wouldn’t say that Donny is happy,” he said. “Of course, he wants to play more, but he gets about his job in the right manner.
