Donna Kelce’s home renovation update goes viral — even the Empire State Building is paying tribute

While NFL fans were anxiously awaiting Travis Kelce’s potential retirement decision, others were kept occupied with the status of his mother, Donna’s, home remodel.

The 73-year-old matriarch of the Kelce family went viral over the weekend after a seemingly random TMZ story of her “modest” Florida home makeover gained traction.

Many on X chimed in wondering why Donna’s home made the news, with large accounts — including the Empire State Building — weighing in on the remodel.

“This is so weird who went looking for this?” one person questioned on X. “One should be able to remodel their home without tmz alerting everyone!”

Another person agreed, writing, “Why is this news worthy? Literally why are you posting this?”

Donna’s oldest son, former NFL player Jason Kelce, also joined in on the teasing as he re-posted TMZ’s X post, writing, “BREAKING!! Sources confirm Donna Kelce’s eldest son watched 2 hours of Bluey yesterday.”

Meanwhile, others fully leaned in and congratulated the Traitors alum on the news.

“Congrats to Donna Kelce on remodeling her modest Florida home!” the Empire State Building’s X account wrote.

“Does anyone have an update on Donna Kelce’s house situation, I’ve been worried about her doors and windows all weekend, we can’t just move on from this,” a second person asked while another joked “Why haven’t they released the name of tile and color of the grout Donna Kelce chose for her home remodel? What are they hiding?”

Following Donna’s news, it was reported Monday that Travis would be returning to play for the Kansas City Chiefs for one more year.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport broke the news on X, writing, “Back for more: #Chiefs future Hall of Fame TE Travis Kelce is expected to return to Kansas City for a 14th season, a message that’s been delivered to teams who will want him.

“At 36, Kelce’s play was at its usual level, landing him in the Pro Bowl. He’s loyal to KC & will stay.”

The team’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, also seemed to confirm the tight end’s return with an Instagram post showing off pictures of himself and Travis in uniform, captioned with a clock and arrow emoji.

Travis’s decision to return to the football field came after a difficult NFL season, as the Chiefs finished the season 6-11 — missing the NFL playoffs for the first time in a decade — and were plagued by injuries, including Mahomes tearing his ACL in December.
