Donna Air plagued with 'brain fog' and memory loss after contracting coronavirus

Donna Air has revealed she's been left with 'brain fog' and memory loss after having coronavirus earlier this year.

Back at the end of March, the 41-year-old, who shot to fame in the early 90s on Byker Grove, posted on Twitter to say she'd tested positive for coronavirus, writing: " I hope everyone is managing to stay strong and in relatively good spirits during the lockdown.

" I just wanted to let you know developed mild flu like symptoms and started self isolating 18 days ago, I took a test for some clarity & the results tested positive for Covid19.

Thankfully symptoms improved shortly after and my loved ones are not displaying any signs of the virus. I will continue to follow government guidelines & in the meantime I am sending masses of love to you all, especially those on the front line."

Donna revealed, at a time when they were few and far between, she managed to get a test done privately and then donated some to friends in the NHS so they too could be put at east as to they'd contracted the virus."

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Newcastle-born actress Donna, who returned to TV earlier this year in BBC drama The Split, revealed that she believed contacting coronavirus had left her with two lasting symptoms - brain fog and memory loss.

Sharing an article on her timeline headlined around COVID-19 survivors feeling like 'they had dementia', Donna wrote: "Since contracting Covid-19 back in March, I have developed some brain fog and random memory loss (very different to anything experienced before) It’s seems I am not alone! Has anyone else noticed these symptoms?"

Actor Paul Tonkinson replied: "One of my mates has developed this. Hope you recover fully in time," and another follower responded :"I definitely have some of that!

"About a year ago I had a second nasty bout of ‘flu’ knocked me out for days and the result after I got ‘better’ was loss of smell and taste, gone just like that! Still not fully regained, but better but no the same."
