Diana Quick is to star in the Donmar Warehouse's first online production.
The YouTube premiere of Adam Brace’s play Midnight Your Time will be directed by Donmar artistic director Michael Longhurst, and available online for a week.
Longhurst originally staged Midnight Your Time in 2011, and this new version has been updated for online broadcast, with Quick reviving her role and recording the performance via webcam.
The play follows retired lawyer Judy, who tries to call her daughter in Palestine every Thursday, as she is stuck at home and trying to find ways to occupy herself.
Speaking about the online show, Longhurst said: “I had the great joy of directing Diana Quick a decade ago in this role, written especially for her, and wanted to revive this play as soon as Lockdown began. Adam’s prescient presentation of a then-burgeoning method of digital communication is so entirely a part of our lives under lockdown; and its commentary on ageing and isolation resonate even more profoundly at this time.”
Midnight Your Time will stream live at 7:30pm on May 13 and then remain online for a week, youtube.com/donmarwarehouse
