Donegall Place incident sees man suffer slash injuries

A man has sustained slash injuries during an altercation in Belfast city centre this afternoon.

Police are at the scene on Donegall Place which has been cordoned off and an investigation is underway.

Officers responded to a report of an assault at the Donegall Place outside the KFC restaurant.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI said: "It is believed that a number of people were involved in an altercation in the area. One man received laceration injuries but declined medical assistance.

"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident."

Paper napkins from the fast food restaurant were used to try to stem the flow of blood from injuries sustained by the injured man.
