Donegal football final under threat as county panel remain in isolation

Sunday's Donegal senior football final is under threat as the county panel remains in isolation.

Kilcar, who are due to play Naomh Conaill in the decider, have a confirmed Covid-19 case with further testing ongoing.

All fixtures in the county fell by the wayside last weekend as a precaution and while the coming weekend’s games remain on course, there was a “health warning” attached in a circular sent by the county board to clubs.

The senior final is due to take place in Ballybofey on Sunday at 4pm, while a senior relegation play-off and intermediate final along with a junior semi-final are also down for decision.

The Donegal senior panel is in isolation after a player tested positive for coronavirus as they await further test results.

Donegal is quickly developing as a coronavirus hotspot and may well be upgraded to Level 3 status before the weekend, which would see the permitted attendance for the county final slashed from the 200 currently permitted.
