Doncaster Rovers missing duo for Bolton Wanderers trip as ex-Spurs midfielder ruled out of clash

Doncaster Rovers will be without the services of midfielder John Bostock due to a foot injury for tomorrow's clash against Bolton Wanderers.

And the Yorkshire side will also be missing a mystery duo as Richie Wellens confirmed that two other unnamed players will not be making the journey to face Wanderers at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Former Spurs midfielder Bostock picked up the foot problem just before the break over the weekend against Lincoln City and will not be available for the clash against Wanderers.

Ben Close and Jordy Hiwula are also likely not play a part, but Pontus Dahlberg could well play after missing the clash against the Imps with an illness.

But Wellens opted to keep the identity of another couple of players who will not play against Ian Evatt's team a secret to stop Wanderers from learning too much of their injury troubles.

“He’s not fit,” Wellens told the Doncaster Free Press. “He went for an x-ray after the game and nothing is broken, which is good.

“But the swelling is such that he won’t be able to play.

“He needs to keep it elevated, ice it a lot and hopefully the time frame will come down.

“He might have a chance for Saturday but with how swollen it is now, he’s no chance.”

"They’re (Close and Hiwula) 50-50 for Tuesday but because they’re both muscle injuries there’s no point in risking them.

“By the time Friday comes they’ll be 100 per cent fit so we’ll have them for a longer period without any risk.

“Pontus has been back in today so he feels a lot better. We don’t know how he’s going to react after training so we’ll give him every opportunity.

“There’s a couple more that won’t make it but I’m going to keep them private to stop the opposition knowing.

"There will be a couple more changes to the team sheet from Saturday due to injuries.”
