Donated clothes set on fire outside Phibsborough charity shop

Dublin firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire outside a charity shop in Phibsborough this morning.

Donated clothes left outside the shop had been set alight which set off fire alarms of the shop and nearby flats.

Dublin Fire Brigade shared pictures of the aftermath of the blaze warning charity shops to consider having a pick up point away from the shop during closing hours.

They said in a post: “Phibsborough firefighters at a charity shop clothing fire this morning.

“Donated clothes were set alight, activating the shop & nearby flats fire alarm. Manage a charity shop?

“Consider a pick up point away from your shop when it's closed. #Dublin #FireSafety”
