Donate to the homeless and you could get two free tickets for the gig of your choice in 2020

We know, we know - Santa Claus is coming to town.

But there are also lots of incredible performances to see before Saint Nick rocks into Glasgow next week.

With gigs from Bingo Loco to ABBA Christmas Wonderland, we're betting the O2 Academy is going to be busy place in the run up to Christmas.

And in more good news for gig-goers - the iconic Glasgow venue is offering the chance for music lovers to win free concert tickets, all while helping a good cause.

This month, punters can bring a donation to any O2 gig in December and be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to a gig of their choice in 2020.

All you need to do is make a donation at the venue, and in return you’ll be given a raffle ticket and entered into the free prize draw. The winner will receive two tickets to any gig in the coming year.

Not a bad wee prize, if we say so ourselves - plus it's always nice to give back in December!

All the money raised will go to to Turning Point Scotland, a charity that provides a wide range of support services to people experiencing substance misuse, homelessness, mental health issues, offending behavior, Huntington’s disease and Early Onset Dementia.

Music-lovers can offer a cash donation in return for a raffle ticket, or bring along one of the items desperately needed by the charity.

A spokeswoman from the O2 Academy said: "At the rest our December gigs, we'll be taking donations for Turning Point Scotland.

"They're in particular need of:

- toiletries
- sanitary products
- hats
- gloves
- thermals

"As a thank you, we'll swap a donation for a raffle ticket for the chance to win two tickets to any gig! You can also make a monetary donation at the cloakroom."

You can make a donation at any of the following gigs:

  • Bingo Loco Glasgow

  • ABBA Christmas Wonderland

  • The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club

  • GBX Anthems NYE
