Donald Trump has arrived in Ireland on the second leg of his tour.
A massive security operation involving thousands of gardai is underway in west Claire, where the US president and First Lady Melania Trump will stay following their three-day state visit to the UK.
Protesters gathered on Wednesday as Air Force Two landed at Shannon Airport, where Mr Trump was greeted by Irish premier Leo Varadkar.
He later held a press conference with his Irish counterpart, in which he spoke about Brexit, climate change and the business links between the two countries.
Just as in the UK this week, Mr Trump’s visit is expected to be met with numerous protests.
