Donald Trump tweets about his discussion with the 'Prince of Whales'

In a tweet earlier today Donald Trump mistakenly referred to Prince Charles as the "Prince of Whales."

The US President was furiously posting about his regular meetings with foreign governments, in response to a controversial ABC News interview about Russian collusion, when he made the gaffe.

Donald Trump regularly tweets and discusses his IQ, writing in March that his "I.Q. is one of the highest - and you all know it!" - something perhaps not evident in his latest tweets.

In a rare move for Trump, who usually leaves posts up on Twitter even when they have grammatical errors or incorrect information, the tweet was deleted and corrected shortly after it was sent.

Orca-ward

But that didn't stop hoards of screenshots being shared across social media.

Wales Online rebranded their Twitter as a nod to the president's slip-up.

In fact a short while later, 'Prince of Whales' began trending on Twitter, with some jokingly calling for the Prince of Wales to be permanently renamed.

While others considered what their meeting would have been like.

Others posted their best versions of what the Prince of Whales might look like.
