US president Donald Trump is set to deliver a speech on Tuesday, which he has dubbed Liberation Day, and is expected to unveil his latest round of global tariffs.
Trump’s announcement of sweeping tariffs is expected on Tuesday evening, UK time, and there are growing fears his actions could spark a global trade war.
The US president is expected to use his speech to unveil his plan to reverse what he has called “unfair practices that have been ripping off our country for decades”.
What time is the speech and how can I watch?
Trump’s Liberation Day speech is expected to start at 9pm UK time and will be available on various UK broadcasters' platforms.
What tariffs are expected?
A 20% blanket tariff on nearly all imports to the US has been drafted by Trump’s administration, according to reports.

However, leaders from the EU and the UK are concerned over the possibility of sectoral tariffs, as well as permanent levies he may impose to counter Europe’s VAT rates, something which Trump considers a de facto tax.
Trump has already announced tariffs on cars imported into the US starting on April 3.
He has also already raised duties on Chinese imports, as well as steel, aluminium and some goods from Canada and Mexico.
