Donald Trump supporter charged for assaulting black man at rally

A 78-year-old man has been charged after being caught on camera punching a black man at a Donald Trump rally, according to news station WRAL.

John McGraw faces charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after the incident in Fayetteville, North Carolina on Wednesday. The man who was punched was removed from the rally for protesting Mr Trump and was hit as he was leaving the venue.

Trump rallies have become magnets for protestors of the controversial presidential candidate and Mr Trump appears to relish kicking those protestors out of his events. This is not the first incident of violence at a Trump rally.

New York Daily News Columnist Shaun King wrote, "Violence is become commonplace at Donald Trump events. What is also particularly clear is that white protesters as Trump events feel particularly emboldened to put their hands on African-American protesters."
